English Conversation Group
Every Thursday
10am - 12 noon

English conversation group is an informal weekly group for adults in the community for whom English is not their first language. Volunteers assist participants with language skills and familiarisation with services and activities in the local community. Morning tea is provided.


Boomanulla Family and Community Family Game Naidoc Game Day

Join Boomanulla and the UC Grizzlies for Family Community Game Day, with youth, men's, and women's games.
A variety of food options will be available and we will be drawing our current raffle winners.
Our Ladies League Tag team and our men's team will be wearing NAIDOC themed jerseys, designed by local artist Esma Livermore, which will be auctioned off following the men's game.
Proceeds from the auction will be used to assist our local youth service, Gugan Gulwan who provide support and programs to our young people throughout the ACT.

Children's Tumour Foundation Mega Hero Walk

On the 23 July 2017, the Children’s Tumour Foundation will be hosting their Mega Hero walk. The walk will be taking place in 7 cities around Australia including Canberra. This will be the first time this event will be coming to Canberra therefore we are focusing on reaching as many people regionally as possible. 

Participants can enter as an individual or as a team and raise funds for the cause. Everyone that registers will receive a yellow cape to wear on the day, and can choose to participate in either the 2km, 5km or 10km walk. There will be a warm up routine beforehand, and celebrations at the finish line include raffles, entertainment, refreshments and awards.

Cystic Fibrosis ACT's 6500 Santa Speedo Shuffle

Southern Cross Yacht Club, Mariner Place, Yarralumla

Dust off your speedos for Cystic Fibrosis ACT’s annual 6500 Santa Speedo Shuffle and help raise money for Canberrans living with cystic fibrosis. We’re calling for 200 brave Santas to descend on Lake Burley Griffin to run the western basin as many times as possible in 65 minutes.

The event will finish with a Christmas in July themed festival at the Southern Cross Yacht Club.
